What is this all about?

Why a blog? What is it for? What is it about? Listen my children and you shall hear. Yes, there is a story (there is always a story). I have always wanted to know what is out there. What is beyond the horizon, beyond where I can currently see. I started working when I was 13 years old. Continued that until I was 61 and decided I had done enough of the make a living thing and it was time to do the living. With an aging parent and brand new baby additions to our family, I chose then, to come home for awhile and enjoy family. I have done that exact thing for 6 years now. With the passing of our family matriarch into her next realm of being, I find myself with a decision to make concerning my future I have the time now, the health now and the desire now, to see what is out there, what is beyond that horizon. And I am going to do just that. I'm packing my bags and putting them in my car and I am hitting the road. I will see all extended family along the way, and all chosen family as well. I will crash at any friends house that wants to host me for a few days or I will rent a place to hang and just come over to visit if that is your comfort level. Those of you that know me well will also note I have planned in some serious alone time to reflect and reset, so no worries there. I have no time table, I don't even know exactly when I will be hitting the road. I do know I will be seeing a LOT of the US and major parts of Canada along the way. I do plan on being back home for holidays and major events, so my base will always be here in Newport, but I am leaving for a bit to see what's out there. Come go with me, let's see what is over that horizon together. I will also be adding some pictures to the website as I go along.
